Abstract

The transitions of the access points, called handovers, are necessary to keep the connection of a mobile device, allowing the continuity of the services to the user. Nowadays, on the mobile phones networks, those transitions are done by the access providers in a centralized way. On the Next Generation Networks there is the possibility to deliver the control of handovers to the user. It is important for both users and providers to understand this paradigm in terms of the motivators that would allow them to change the access point. The project aims to understand the behavior of this paradigm using modeling and simulations of the access to those wireless networks from the next generation.
