Abstract

This research project is one work of the sub-project "Experimental thermal comfort" of the PICTA - Embraer/Fapesp project of "Comfort and cabin design (Grant no. 2006/52570-1)". The present research project refers to the experimental measurement of variables of the airflow in aircraft cabin related to the experimental study of thermal comfort conditions. The airflow variables will also be used for testing and adjusting the numerical method in development. The measurement of the environmental variables will be accomplished in controlled conditions in an instrumented mock-up. The experimental evaluation of thermal comfort in the mock-up will be accomplished in three stages: without the people's presence (using mannequins with heat sources simulating people), using instrumented mannequin, and with the people's presence.
