Abstract

This goal of the project is to characterize the adsorption process of water-soluble polymer (polyethylene glycol) on the surface of niobium oxide (Nb2O5). The fundamental aspects of adsorption process, such as surface solid characterization in solution will be studied. The important variables are: pH-dependence on surface charge density, ionic strength and the nature of electrolytes. Furthermore, the quantitative analysis of polymer adsorption will be studied.
