Abstract

The objective of this project is to analyze a dictionary of slangs compiled by the writer João Antônio in the pages of a phone book, by verifying the presence of its entrance words in the books 'Dedo Duro' and 'Abraçado ao meu Rancor'. The purposes of this research was to reach a wider understanding of the creation process of the author's books, principally regarding the use of the popular language style present in the speech of his characters.
