Abstract

The aim is to evaluate the relation between the mineralogical attributes and the space dependence of a ultisol under sugarcane culture. The relief classification of the area in study, if gives according to Troeh et al.(1980). Two regular grids having 100 x 100m with poins in intervals of 10 m will be studied. In the laboratory will be conducted analysis of clays extracted from soil samples in order to quantify hematite, goethite, kaulinite and gibbsite contents. In addition it will be evaluated hematite-goethite fraction clay by means of the x-ray diffraction, by using the powder method. The results gotten through the x-ray diffraction analysis will be submitted to descriptive statistics (average, medium, shunting linestandard, coefficient of variation, coefficient of asymmetry and coefficient of kurtosis) and geoestatistics for posterior derivation of the variability and space dependence.
