Abstract This project aims to analyze the importance of Copernicanism in the work of Johannes Kepler. We propose the study of Kepler's defence of Copernican system as he wrote in his first astronomical book, the Mysterium Cosmograficum. In order to accomplish it, we divide the project in two parts: 1) The study of the Copernican hypothesis with respect to the movement of Earth and centrality of Sun and with respect to the main difficulties to the acceptance of that hypothesis; 2) Kepler's arguments for the superiority of Copernican's system in relation to Ptolemaic models. Our final objective is the understanding of these questions in Kepler's thought regarding astronomy and science. (AU) | |
