Abstract

The repair of bone defects is an objection to the rehabilitation treatment, especially when there is interventions in the hospital. The biomaterials with osteoinductive properties are the cause of studies that aim to find substitutes for human bone that can also be used as a material for the treatment of bone defects. Materials that present theirselves with particles measured in nanometers are easily phagocytized by macrophages making thus a bone of better quality without traces of osteoinductive material. The objective is to evaluate the biocompatibility of hydroxyapatite nanoparticles (test material) in rat subcutaneous tissue through histological cuts obtained after 3, 24 hours and 7, 21, 30 and 60 days from the implantation
