Abstract

It is well known that the classical orthogonalpolynomials (Jacobi, Hermite and Laguerre) are solutions of ordinary differential equations of second order. More recently it has been established relations between orthogonal polynomials associated to non-classical measures and ordinary differential equations of higher order. The aim of this project is to studysome of these types of orthogonal polynomials, for example, the orthogonal polynomials of Sobolev type, and their relations with ordinary differential equations.
