Abstract

This researching proposal is devoted to the developing and design of an expert system of Distribution management System (DMS) power applications. The proposed system consist of 26 power applications, organized as modular libraries. All applications operate over a unified mathematical model of the network with full mutual compatibility. They should be integrated in the DMS as a inified software package used in four operation modes: operation management, operation planning, development planning and analysis, and simulation and training. All applications are developed on the basis of specialized algorithms aimed for distribution networks. The algorithms are fully adapted to the specific features of these networks: radial operation, high R/X ratio, reduced number of measurements and huge dimensions. Thus, the specialized DMS algorithms are far more efficient than the corresponding EMS algorithms when applied to the solution of distribution network problems. This efficiency increases with the system's dimensions. (AU)
