Abstract

The endodontic success is achieved with disinfection and obturation of root canal system. This obturation can be made with different types of materials and techniques, always aiming the best seal. The purpose of this study is to evaluate and compare the sealing ability of N-Rickert, AH Plus and Epiphany sealers, using two obturation techniques: cold lateral condensation and thermocompaction. Thus, sixty single rooted permanent human teeth will be endodontic prepared with rotary instrumentation and chemical substances and then obturated with mentioned sealers and techniques, according each group. The coronal access will be sealed with glass ionomer cement and all teeth will be coated, except the apical foramen. The sample will be immersed in 50% silver nitrate solution during 24 hours and then washed and dried. Each specimen will be included in acrylic blocks and split bucco-lingually. Then, all sections will be immersed in photodeveloper solution for 8 hours, in order to reduce silver ions. Ending the sample preparation, all teeth will be scanned in high resolution and the impregnation of silver nitrate analyzed using Imagelab software. The leakage values will be tabulated and submitted to Biostat 4.0 statistical software.
