Abstract

The coronary artery disease (CAD) is, nowadays, an important factor of morbid-mortality in the current society. Currently, in Brazil, there is an increase of aged people with greater life expectancies due to improvement of the partner-economic conditions, mainly caused by improvements and advances in the health treatments. However, having such aged population has as a side effect the increasing of CAD among those people and all this illness complications and mortality as well. Even though aged populations are more affected by the CAD, due to bad habit that are common nowadays young people are also affected by this same illness, however the illness causes are distinct from the ones that affect aged people.The Myocardial revascularization, a surgical procedure that in both cases mentioned above are unavoidable, even though, requires a rigorous analyses based on the patient's age. The main goal of this article is to compare the risks of applying such procedure in two distinct patients - younger and older ones.
