Abstract

The immediate objective in that project is the study of several splines types and its use in the isoline contouring on the plane. After a polygonal line is obtained by linear interpolation, a “smoothing” of it is wanted by a splines curve and also a coloring of it. The system should be developed in Matlab using GUI's and it should allow comparison among the drawn by the several methods. It should also have a presentation almost professional and be user friendly so that it is useful for the community. It will also be made an attempt of generalization of the algorithm for oblique domains and also for domains different from a matrix, for instance, that it is a composition of matrices. An aspect to be attacked is the “resolution” of degenerate situations, in the sense that more than a solution being possible, which of them should be chosen? An algorithm in that sense will be implemented. It will also be elaborated a manual of the system so that its use is as spread and easy as possible.
