Abstract

This study aims to examine the extent of structural changes, physical and administrative, which have occurred in the metropolitan transportation on trails in the city of Sao Paulo, in view of the expansion plan led by the Secretary of Metropolitan Transport. The Plan sets as one of its main goals the rapprochement between the quality of services provided by CPTM and Metro, often serving as parameter the second company. The changes include the restructuring of stations and the purchase and restoration of wagons and locomotives, requiring administrative adjustment of enterprises to these challenges, as well as the possible redefinition of relations between the indirect administration, represented here by public enterprises, CPTM and Metro, and the administration direct, represented by the Secretary of Metropolitan Transport. How specific object of study, treat lines 11/Coral and 12/Safira, CPTM and, in comparison, the line 3/Vermelha Metro.
