Abstract

The use of specific computer softwares as tools for statistical analysis in Human identification and genetic links have become essential, especially in cases of greater complexity or large scale. The analysis of cases in which there is incomplete genealogy and the differences in allele frequencies found within the Brazilian population creates incomplete results, making the statistical calculations more laborious likewise spending time and work of qualified people. This project aims to achieve the following objectives: 1) The simulated study of human identification cases and genetic links in special situations (step brothers in the absence of parents, reconstruction, mass disasters), based on the already obtained results of genotyping of our population, which were got using free computer softwares as a tool of statistical calculations; 2) Check the best free available program of statistical analysis; 3) A statistical survey of cases ( motherhood, genetic links, reconstruction, negative results, exclusion) in order to reach a view of the Brazilian reality in relation to their family relationships. There will be used Data (2004-2007) of 2,000 real cases of research about fatherhood and identity of the Brazilian population through 13 or 15 STR (short tandem repeat) markers. These Data from special cases cited above will be tested and assessed by the free available software, in addition to simulated studies in which the evaluation results will be compared with the previously obtained results. The project will be submitted to the Ethics Committee of Federal University of São Paulo.
