Abstract

This research aims to contribute for the study of Artist's Collectives that have appeared at São Paulo city (Brazil). From a preliminary survey - resulting from scientific initiation research supported by the "teach with research" program from undergraduate board developed by scholar Bárbara Francelin - intend to collect bibliographic and iconographic materials about two of these collectives - 3 nós 3 and Contra-Filé - acting in different periods, respectively to 70´s/80´s and the year of 2000.The research also includes the analysis of those materials with the intention of making explicit the specifics, means of expressions, topics and questions proposed by their artistic practices in two specific moments of the Brazilian social life: the end of the military dictatorship and the moment that the agenda neoliberal becomes better defined and visible.After seen particular details of the collectives of art - that presuppose the constant questioning of social and artistic pratice - this research seeks to understand important aspects of contemporary art, such as, the critical relationship with institutional art, urban spaces and the relationship between art and politics.This research, as well as its results, attempt to contribute to the researches developed by the research group Novas Espacialidades Contemporâneas, of the Architecture and Urbanism Development department of EESC-USP, a part of the research project Information, Communication and Culture under financial dominance, coordinate by the professor (PhD) Ruy Sardinha Lopes
