Abstract

The possibilities o recover oil from submarine fan depositional systems is very hard with the conventional exploitation methods. The reason is the complicated geometry of the sedimentary facies. This project has as main purpose to built a three dimensional modi of the submarine fan depositional system, utilizing sedimentological and lithostratigraphical methodologies. A vell outcropping deep-sea fan sedimentary rock complex, along the Itajai Valley (Santa Catarina State) is going to study, to describe the principal sedimentary aspects of the reservoir sedimentary bodies: i.e., thickness, width, length, spatial variations, relations with the other lithofacies. Different models in accordance with different acting factors will be considered. The final model could be an useful means to programme the drilling exploitation in new or old oil-field, that are located within originated in submarine fan depositional environment rocks. (AU)
