Abstract

The research project to be developed in Spain is similar to the 2nd. phase of the Fapesp supported project (proc. 2009/01058-7). It is a cognitive behavioral intervention with cardiac patients, with the evaluation of psychosocial risk factors, depression, anxiety and stress, as well as the usual medical measures, like blood pressure, and blood tests. So, it may be understood that the period in Spain will become a specialized training of the use of techniques of measure of psychophysiological reactions to stress in cardiac patients. It will be investigated if behavioral factors, such as hostility and defensiveness may act as predictors of the level or cardiovascular disturbance presented by patients. After his return to Brazil, the investigator will be to incorporate his recent learned skills in the Fapesp project itself, or even in new projects, creating a new research laboratory and starting new investigations.
