Abstract

The aim of the present project is the modeling of incremental non-linear elastic problems via the Boundary Element Method. Non-linear elasticity has several important applications, from the modeling of rubber-like materials to new areas of research such as the study of biological tissues (skin, arteries and the heart). The project focuses on the construction of computer codes which can model pre-stressed non-linear elastic materials subjected to incremental non-linear deformations. The codes will be used within the realm of quasi-static and time-harmonic simulations of rubber-like materials. We present on following the problem formulation as well the objectives, the scientific methodology and the timetable. (AU)
