Abstract

We attempt to show how the architecture of grammar proposed in Distributed Morphology (Embick and Noyer, 2001) can shed a light on the notion of grammaticalization. The employment of such a view of the architecture of grammar allows us to broaden the treatment of this notion in the framework of Generative Grammar (Roberts & Rousseau 2003). (AU)
