Executive Director of Agrosatélite Geotecnologia Aplicada Ltda (www.agrosatelite.com.br) being partner and co-founder. He was with the National Institute for Space Research (INPE) from 1982 to 2012. He graduated in Agronomy from the Federal University of Viçosa (1980), with MSc in Remote Sensing from INPE (1984) and PhD in Agronomy / Remote Sensing from the University of Maryland (1993). He was the head of the Remote Sensing Division from 1996 to 2000 and responsible for the Remote Sensing Laboratory Applied to Agriculture and Forestry LAF of INPE?s Remote Sensing Division. He has experience in agronomy and geosciences with emphasis on remote sensing, acting on the following topics: agricultural remote sensing, crop production, crop insurance, land use change mapping, agricultural and environmental monitoring, field radiometry, agrometeorological and geographic information systems.
