Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Instituto de Física de São Carlos (IFSC)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

He holds a degree in Physics from the Federal University of São João del-Rei - UFSJ (2005), a master's degree in Materials Science from the Federal University of Itajubá - UNIFEI (2007) and a PhD in Basic Physics from the University of São Paulo - USP (Photonics Group/São Carlos Physics Institute - 2011). While still in the Photonics group, he completed a postdoctoral internship with a FAPESP scholarship for 2 and a half years. He is currently a professor/researcher (Associate I) at the Institute of Science and Technology of the Federal University of Alfenas (UNIFAL) advanced campus in Poços de Caldas. He was coordinator of the master's degree in Physics in broad association with the Federal Universities of Alfenas and São Joao del-Rei (2018-2021). In 2016 and 2017, he was an advisor to the Chamber of Exact Sciences and Materials of FAPEMIG. He was a member of the Research Chamber of UNIFAL-MG (2016-2021). He works as a professor/researcher in the Postgraduate Programs in Physics (PPGF) and in the Materials Science and Engineering Program (PPGCEM) at UNIFAL-MG. He has experience in the area of #8203;#8203;Physics, with emphasis on optical spectroscopy and radiation/matter interaction, working on the following topics: linear and nonlinear optical properties resolved in frequency and time of organic materials, organometallics, semiconductors, quantum dots and metallic nanoparticles. The main nonlinear effects investigated are multi-photon absorption, excited state absorption, first-order hyperpolarizability and nonlinear refractive index. He is a specialist in optical techniques such as Z-scan, transient absorption (pump-probe) and Hyper-Rayleigh scattering. Recently, he has incorporated into his research the development of photonic and plasmonic devices through laser microfabrication techniques. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
