Associate Professor (MS-5.3, full-time) at the School of Physical Education and Sport of Ribeirão Preto (EEFERP/USP) and holds a Habilitation (Livre-Docência) in Biomechanics (USP, 2016). His research integrates Biomechanics, Computer Vision, and Data Science to develop quantitative methods for human movement analysis applied to sports and rehabilitation. He has an interdisciplinary background with bachelor's degrees in Physical Education (UNESP, 2002) and Computer Engineering (UNIVESP, 2023), in addition to a Master's (2005) and a Ph.D. (2009) in Human Movement Sciences (UNESP). He is the creator of vailá (arXiv:2410.07238), a multimodal, open-source toolbox in Python for acquiring, synchronizing, and analyzing movement data. His work is guided by the philosophy of open computing (Linux systems) and the development of low-cost solutionssuch as markerless methods and sensor fusionthat broaden access to movement analysis in clinical and field settings. He is a permanent advisor in the Graduate Program in Rehabilitation and Functional Performance (FMRP/USP) and was a Senior Visiting Professor at the University of North Florida (USA).
