Jorge Antonio Gómez Luna

B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Physics by the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and Ph.D. by the Universidade de São Paulo (2009). CNPq Junior Posdoctorate at Universidade de São Paulo in Ribeirão Preto working in Electron Spin Resonnace (ESR) Biodosimetry (2009-2011). Currently I hold a Postdoctoral position at the Universidade de São Paulo in Ribeirão Preto working in Medical Physics focuses in magnetic resonance and radiation dosimetry. My current research agenda focuses in a FAPESP Posdoctoral project about the study of paramagnetic ions and its binding molecules in human brain tissues of healthy people and affected by the neurodegenerative diseases. This study is carried out with human and animal samples and using mainly ESR and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) techniques. This project seeks to contribute to development of models that attempt to explain the pathophysiology of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer and Parkinson. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
