Letícia Aparecida de Moraes

Agricultural Engineer graduated in 2010 by the Faculty of Agronomic Sciences (FAS) of UNESP campus of Botucatu, Brazil. She holds a PhD in Agronomy from the Plant Protection Program at the same Institution. During her first year of college, she was a trainee at the FAS Experimental Farm, and from the third year onwards she became an intern in the FAS Virology Laboratory of the Department of Phytosanitary Protection under advisement of Prof. Doctor Marcelo Agenor Pavan. She worked for two and a half years (2007-2009) in the study of garlic viruses, through her project of Scientific Initiation, funded by CNPq. She had the opportunity to work as a trainee in 2010 in the multinational seed company SAKATA SEED SUDAMERICA Ltda in the "Flowers and Business with Genetics" Sector of the company. During the Master (2011-2013) she was a FAPESP Fellow (Process: 2011 / 04345-7) and the study was related to the survey, study of variability and characterization of the viruses infecting orchids in São Paulo state, Brazil. In her doctorate (2014-2017) she was a CAPES Fellow and her thesis first reported the Bemisia tabaci Mediterranean species in São Paulo state, Brazil in ornamental plants. Worked also with the endosymbionts bacteria relationship with the Mediterranean whitefly species, and integrated the project team, financed by FAPESP (Process: 2014 / 21773-0), related to the study of the Whitefly species, their sets of endosymbionts bacteria, viral transmission and resistance to insecticides in ornamental plants and vegetables in the state of São Paulo.
