Eduardo Soares de Macedo

Graduate in Geology from the Institute of Geosciences (1981), a degree in History (1987), both from the University of São Paulo, a PhD in Geosciences and Environment from the São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2001), and a specialization in Sciences and Natural Disasters from NIED-Japan (1995). Researcher from 1981 to 2024 at the Institute of Technological Research of the state of São Paulo (IPT). Former director of the Center for Environmental and Energy Technologies. Former Brazilian delegate to the Ibero-American Network of Habitat en Riesgo (CYTED). Professor and advisor of the Master's in Housing Technology at IPT. He works mainly on the following topics: risk management, geological risks, hydrological risks, mass movements, erosion, flooding, civil defense, preventive civil defense plan, risk mapping, reurbanization of areas, risk registration, land regularization.
