Graduate in Geografia from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (1973), master's in Geosciences from Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (1980) and ph.d. inPhysical Geography from Universidade de São Paulo (1988). She his researcher level III in the NatioNalt Institute for Space Research-INPE, Director of Campsu Brasil from the Regioanl Center for Space Science and Technology Education for Latin America and the Caribbean-CRECTEALC, responsible for the Nucleous for Geotechnology Research and Application in Natural Disaters and Extreme Events for the Brazilian Southern regiona and MERCOSUL-GEODESASTRES-SUL.
