Graduated at the University of São Paulo School of Medicine (1984), with residency in Ophthalmology at the Federal University of São Paulo. Received the title of Doctor in Medical Science - PhD from the University of Tokyo (1991), revalidated by the University of São Paulo. He did his Post-Doctorate at the Doheny Eye Institute at the University of Southern California. He is currently Professor of the Post-Graduation at the Federal University of São Paulo. Acts as Technical Director of the Vision Institute. He is a physician at the University Hospital of University of São Paulo and the Paulista Center for Specialized Ophthalmology. Acts as a peer reviewer for the Brazilian Archives of Ophthalmology and is Treasurer of the Brazilian Council of Ophthalmology, going for his second term. Operates on the following topics: ophthalmology, cornea, uveitis, cataracts, refractive surgery, ocular immunology, molecular biology, telemedicine and health management. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
