Associate Professor-Researcher at the University of São Paulo, Sarajane Marques Peres holds a degree in Computer Science from the State University of Maringá (1996), a Master's in Production Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (1999), and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the State University of Campinas (2006). She has a "Livre Docência" (higher-level post-doctoral qualification) in Machine Learning and Computational Intelligence from the University of São Paulo. Currently, she works full-time, with full accreditation in the Graduate Program in Information Systems at USP. She is a member of the research staff at C4AI - Center for Artificial Intelligence (USP/IBM/Fapesp), where she serves as the lead researcher of the KEML group (Knowledge-Enhanced Machine Learning for Reasoning about Ocean Data). She is also the Vice-Director of the Research Center for New Pedagogical Architectures (NAP), a member of the management committee of the USP Center for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, a collaborating researcher at C2D - Data Science Center (POLI-USP/Itaú), and the coordinator of a research and development project in process mining, in a collaboration between EACH-USP and Petrobras. From August 2018 to December 2018, she was a researcher at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, in the Netherlands, and from January 2019 to June 2019, she was a researcher at Utrecht University, also in the Netherlands. She has experience in the field of Computer Science, with an emphasis on Computational Intelligence. Her current research focuses on Process Mining, the evaluation of Large Language Models, and Human-Machine Interaction using social robots. She is the author of the textbook Introdução à Mineração de Dados: com aplicações em R, published as part of the Elsevier - SBC Series. She was a tutor for the PET-Sistemas de Informação group (PET Program - Sesu/MEC) from 2010 to 2018. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
