Amarilio Ferreira Jr. is a Full Professor of the Education Department of the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar). He holds a Ph.D. in Social History from the University of São Paulo (USP) and post-doctorate in History of Education at the University of London's Institute of Education (Grant FAPESP). He is a research productivity fellow at CNPq and accredited in the Graduate Program in Education at UFSCar (master and doctorate), with an emphasis on History, Philosophy and Sociology of Education. In the scope of the research has produced in the following themes of History of Brazilian Education: colonial Jesuit education, educational policies of the military dictatorship and trade union movement of public school teachers.
