Mariana Antonia Aguiar Furucho

Since 2015, I have been working as a professor in artificial intelligence and automation at the Federal Technological University of Paraná (UTFPR) in Curitiba. I am part of the Academic Department of Electrotechnics (DAELT), where I teach courses on Artificial Intelligence, Microcontrollers, and Discrete-Event Systems. I have over two decades of experience in teaching undergraduate courses in engineering and technology at higher education institutions. Since 2019, I have also been a visiting professor at the Graduate Program in Neurosciences and Behavior at the Institute of Psychology of USP. Additionally, I am a postdoctoral researcher at Escola Paulista de Medicina of Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP) in the Post-Graduate Program in Interdisciplinary Surgical Science. Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ivan Hong Jun Koh, I am working on the "Computational analysis of thermographic images for diagnosing thermoregulation dysfunction in Sepsis" project. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering/Industrial Informatics from UNESP, a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering/Systems Engineering from POLI-USP, and a PhD from the University of São Paulo in Sciences, Neurosciences and Behavior Program using Computational Intelligence, Simulation, and Computational Modeling. I am a founder and the leader of the Study Group on Engineering, Neurosciences, and Bioinspired Systems (GENeSis), certified by UTFPR. Our research focuses on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Simulation and Modeling of Systems, Automation, and Neurosciences. My areas of expertise include Computational Intelligence, Modeling, and Systems Simulation, Artificial intelligence in health and, Microcontroller System.
