He holds a degree in Biological Sciences from the University of São Paulo (1996), a masters degree in Sciences (Nuclear Energy in Agriculture) from the University of São Paulo (2000) and a doctorate in Sciences (Chemistry in Agriculture and Environment) from the Center for Nuclear Energy in Agriculture/USP (2005). He is currently a professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the State University of Santa Cruz. Works in the graduate programs in Development and Environment (PRODEMA - Environmental Sciences Area) and in the graduate program in Tropical Aquatic Systems (PPGSAT - Biodiversity Area). Current vice - coordinator of the Postgraduate Course in Tropical Aquatic Systems - Program in Association UESC/ UFSB (Biennium 2023-2025) and is the current vice - regional coordinator of the State of Bahia in the Tropical Water Alliance (TWRA) (effective Nov/2021 to Nov/2023). He is President of the Research and Postgraduate Chamber of UESC at CONSEPE. He served as Research Manager at Pró Reitoria de Pesquisa e Pós Graduação of UESC from 2013 to 2021. He is a CNPq level 2 productivity scholar in the area of Environmental Sciences and has experience in the area of Ecology, with emphasis on Ecosystem Ecology, working mainly in the following themes: biogeochemistry of nutrients in rivers and streams and Limnology.
