He earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the Federal University of Pernambuco in 2009, a Master of Science in Chemistry (Physical Chemistry) from the University of So Paulo in 2011, and a PhD in Chemistry from the University of So Paulo in 2016. He is a professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. He has a background in chemistry, with a focus on spectroelectrochemistry and optics, and has worked primarily on the following topics: bioanalytical, electrochemistry, vibrational spectroscopy, metallic nanoparticles, surface chemistry, and plasmonics. His current research interests include the development of analytical methods and sensors for identifying biomolecules (DNA and/or Proteins) in order to promote a better understanding of fundamental life processes by increasing knowledge of how to intervene in these processes to regulate biological function and restore health.
