Flavia Bernardini has a degree in Computer Science from UNESP (1999) and a master's and doctorate in Computer Science from ICMC/USP (2002 and 2006). She has been an associate professor at the Institute of Computing at the Fluminense Federal University (UFF) for more than 15 years, where she held several positions, such as head of department and member of many diverse committees, and ministered diverse undergraduate and graduate courses in programming, databases, human-computer interaction, artificial intelligence, machine learning, digital government, and introduction to compilers. She coordinates the Digital Government Interest Group (GI-GD) of the Brazilian Computing Society (SBC). She is one of those responsible for the Data Analysis Center for Citizenship (D4Ctz), and collaborates with several research groups at UFF. She has experience in coordinating and executing research, development and innovation projects since 2007, many of them with a multidisciplinary nature, having received support from diverse agencies for funding research and private and public organizations. The projects involve collecting, processing and analyzing data and developing computational artifacts that use Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, for various problems in different application domains. In the last decade, she has focused her interests on Digital Government, Smart Cities, mainly in smart governance and digital citizenship, and highly sensory environments, such as Industry 4.0, and Education. In this context, he has published several works, with dozens of undergraduate supervisions completed and in progress, 20 master's supervisions completed and 4 in progress, and 3 doctoral supervisions completed and 8 in progress. Furthermore, she was general coordinator of the 42nd edition of the biggest computing event in Brazil, the CSBC (Congress of the Brazilian Computing Society) in 2022, coordinator of several smaller events and program coordinator at several national and international events, the most recent being dg.o'2024 (25th Annual International Conference on Digital Government Research), the world's main digital government event.
