Birthplace: Brazil

I am a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Materials Science at Universidade Nova de Lisboa (Caparica), where I work on the development of Si-based and perovskite solar cells. Additionally, I serve as an Associate Professor at Universidade Federal do Triângulo Mineiro. I hold a bachelor's degree in Physics (1999), a master's degree (2002), a PhD in Physics (2007), and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for Semiconductor Components at Unicamp (20082010). My expertise lies in Condensed Matter Physics, with a focus on thin film synthesis, ion implantation, and plasma processes for material deposition and treatment. I have extensive experience in the synthesis, functionalization, and characterization of graphene multilayers with various nanoparticles. I also specialize in using cold and reactive plasma techniques for the development of thin films, sensors, biocompatible materials, corrosion-resistant coatings, and more. In my research, I have studied the interactions between contaminants and biological substances with surfaces such as carbon nanotubes, graphene, and thin films of oxides and carbon. Additionally, I have developed and analyzed composites aimed at improving mechanical and electrochemical properties for a range of applications, including polymeric composites, ceramics, chemical and biological sensors, nanofluids for machining, and energy harvesting. Recently, my team has successfully produced flexible, self-supporting solid-state supercapacitors. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
