Graduated in Electronic Engineering from the University of Vale do Paraíba - UNIVAP (1985). Sandwich doctorate at Laboratoire d'Analyse et d'Architecture des Systèmes - LAAS (France, 1995-1996). IEEE Senior member. CNPq-DT2 productivity fellow (since 03/2006). Full 1Professor, coordinator of the Specialization Course in Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems Engineering and the research group Vision, Computer Systems and Applications - VISCAP of the Institute of Mathematics and Computation of the Federal University of Itajubá where he has been elaborating and coordinating Technological Innovation projects - IT (Fapesp, Fapemig and CNPq) and Research and Development - RD (Helibras, Furnas and Fanem). Ad hoc consultant to CAPES, CNPq, IEEE, FAPEMIG, FACEPE, FUNDECT and CYTED. Member of the CNPq-RHAE Technical Committee and IEEE Systems Man and Cybernetics Society (SMCS). He has professional experience in the areas of Process Automation with an emphasis on chemical and petrochemical processes (Petrobras 1983-1995); and Computer Science, with emphasis on Information Systems (ITA / Motorola 1997-2001), acting mainly on the following themes: Development of Training Simulators with the support of Intelligent Tutoring Systems, Hybrid Intelligent Systems and Computer Based Training, Neural Networks in Trajectory Control in Unmanned Vehicles, Pattern Matching and Image Digital Processing. Creator and coordinator of the Black Bee team for aerial drone competitions (3rd place, IMAV2015 Aachen, Germany; 7th place, IMAV2016, Beijing, China; 4th place IMAV2017, Toulouse, France).
