Luiz Carlos Ferracin

Graduated in Chemistry from the UNESP (1987), MA in Inorganic Chemistry (1991), doctorate in Chemistry (1995) and SWE in the "Université de Nantes" - French (1993). Has experience in Inorganic Chemistry, with emphasis on Electrochemistry, studing the following topics: manganese, electrochemistry, spinel, lithium and new materials, eletrorecovering of lead and gold. He was ben developed new types of cements and pozzolans; utilization of acidic and basic slag for civil construction. Studies calcinated clays using poor kaolinite to obtain pozzolan. Use of ash and slag in the preparation of glass-ceramics. Technical intervention in the clinker furnace, assessing characteristics to obtain cements with high performance and low cost. Evaluation of quality of cement and plaster. Implementation of new cementitious materials with pozzolanic activity. Inventory and Evaluation of CO2 and greenhouse gases (GHG).
