Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Instituto de Química (IQ) (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal) Birthplace: Brazil
Associate professor of the Federal University of ABC with research in the characterization of nanomaterials. BS in Chemistry (2000) and PhD in Physical Chemistry (2004) from the University of São Paulo with a thesis defended on conducting polymer nanocomposites with clays. Performed two years of postdoc at the University of São Paulo in the study of conducting polymer nanofibers using different spectroscopic techniques and microscopy. Later, I did a postdoc at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the study of doped double-walled carbon nanotubes. After returning to Brazil, I made another postdoc fellow at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), with the aim of synthesizing carbon nanotubes modified with molecular magnets. My interests have centered on the following themes: polymer nanocomposites, nanostructured conductive polymers, modified carbon nanotubes. Among the different techniques used, are mainly: Infrared and Raman spectroscopy, photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) spectroscopies using synchrotron light and electron microscopy.
