Ingrid Esslinger

Graduation in Psychology (1984), Master Degree (1995) and Doctoral Degree (2003) in School Psychology and Human Development at the University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil, acting on the following areas: Collective Health, with emphasis on themes such as Death, Losses, Hospitalization, Death and Mourning Processes, Bioethics in Terminal Situations, Suicide, among others. Member of the founding team of the Laboratory of Death Studies, of the Institute of Psychology at the University of São Paulo, where she worked for several years and helped to develop the project Falando de Morte (Talking About Death), which has been released in a series of DVDs discussing the themes above. Consultant at schools, hospitals and companies, under situations of loss, death and mourning. Author of the books De quem é a vida, afinal? (Whose Life is It Anyway?), edited by Casa do Psicólogo and co-author of the book Adolescência: vida ou morte? (Adolescence: life or death?), edited by Ática, both published in Brazil. She is also one of the organizers of the book Dilemas Éticos (Ethical Dillemas), ed. Loyola/São Camilo, and has also written several chapters in books, as well as articles in magazines and scientific journals. Member of the Bioethics Comitee of the Hospital Alemão Oswaldo Cruz, since its foundation in the year 2007, working on the organization activities, consultancies and pedagogical activities. Member of the Comitee of Living Related Transplant at the same Hospital. Taught as a Professor for 15 years and is currently a lecturer at CEFATEF (Centro de Formação e Estudos Terapêuticos da Família), where she teaches an extension course on mourning (since 1999). Has also been a guest lecturer at several Universities and Institutes, among other institutions. Since 1988 has worked as a Clinical Psychologist with the following specializations: -Psychoanalytic and Psychodynamic therapies (Instituto Sedes Sapientiae) -Psychodramatic constructivist therapies ( family, groups, couples), under the coordination of Professor Dr. Ana Maria Fonseca Zampieri. -Multi-professional Palliative Care (Instituto Paliar Centro de Estudos Avançados em Medicina Paliativa) -Couples therapies (Instituto Moreno) -EMDR Psychotherapy capacitation (level 1) with Esly de Carvalho (EMDR Insitute/USA) Ad hoc consultant for the scientific journal Boletim de Psicologia since 2004.
