Fulvio Aurelio de Morais Freire

I hold a Biological Sciences degree and a Bachelor's degree from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (2000). Ph.D. in Biological Sciences (Zoology) from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2005), a postdoctoral degree from the University Of Jyvaskyla, Finland, and the University of Toronto (Canada). I am a titular professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. I have experience in Zoology, biology, and fisheries, with emphasis on the Bioecology of marine benthic organisms, working mainly on the following topics: Ecology, biology, and fisheries management of Decapoda crustaceans. I have started a line of research focused on traditional and geometric morphometry studies in Decapoda crustaceans. He does some co-orientation work in experimental designs and statistical analyses. Currently, I teach Invertebrate Zoology and Biological Oceanography courses to Undergraduate students. Besides, I teach Introduction to Biostatistics and Multivariate Analysis for Graduate Studies. Now, the activity in more significant evidence developed by the researcher is related to the study of fishing biology of the seven-barb shrimp in Rio Grande do Norte. This project was financed by the Ministry of Fisheries and CNPq and aimed to provide biological information on this and other species for future fisheries management strategies. Secondarily, the same project analyzes the risk and probable process of establishing Litopenaeus vannamei shrimp in the natural environment.
