Maria Esmeralda Soares Payão Demattê

Graduate in Agronomy (1966), Master in Plant Production (1978) and Doctor in Soil and Plant Nutrition from University of Sao Paulo (1983). Specialized on vegetable growing from the International Agricultural Centre, Wageningen, Holland (1972), and in landscape planning from University of Sao Paulo (1981). Scientific researcher at Agronomic Institute of Campinas (IAC) from 1968 to 1974. Full Professor of Horticulture in Sao Paulo State University (Unesp). Has experience in Agronomy, acting mainly on the following subjects: landscape planning, conservation of native species, substrates for substituting tree fern fiber, orchids and bromeliads cultivation, reforestation with native species, agroforestry systems and rehabilitation of degraded areas.
