Daniel Maximo Corrêa de Alcantara

Holds a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (2009), a Master's degree in Biological Sciences (Zoology) from the University of São Paulo (2014), and a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences (Zoology) from the University of São Paulo (2020). Currently, he is a Public Health Researcher at Fiocruz Mato Grosso do Sul, where he also serves as Coordinator of the Sequencing Laboratory at Fiocruz Mato Grosso do Sul, being responsible for supervising research activities, managing projects, and coordinating teams. He has experience in the areas of taxonomy, phylogenetic systematics, molecular biology, next-generation sequencing, ecological interactions, historical parasite-host association, and biogeography. He has been working at Fiocruz Mato Grosso do Sul since 2020, contributing to the diagnosis and genomic surveillance of pathogens, and also serves as a member of the Fiocruz Genomic Network.
