Associate Professor Level 3 at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism and Design at the University of São Paulo (FAU-USP), where she has been teaching since 2001 in the field of Visual Programming. She is currently the Head of the Department of Design and the Academic Coordinator of the Technical Section for Editorial Production. She leads the Image Laboratory and heads the research group Design, Environment, and Interfaces (CNPq). She served as Coordinator of the Undergraduate Program in Design (20062009) and the Graduate Program in Design (20172021). She holds a degree in Architecture and Urbanism from FAU-USP (1984), a Masters (1993), and a PhD (2003) in Urban Environmental Structures from the same institution. She obtained her Livre-Docência (a post-doctoral academic qualification) in 2015 with the thesis Project and Language: Design, Art, Architecture, and the City. She was awarded a CAPES Sandwich Scholarship for a research internship at the Faculty of Architecture of the Politecnico di Torino (1990), a Mobility Grant from Fundación Carolina for a postdoctoral internship at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (2010), and a PRINT CAPES-USP grant for a postdoctoral program as a Visiting Researcher at the Department of Design of the Politecnico di Milano (Feb to Jul 2024). Between 1997 and 2006, she taught at the Institute of Arts of UNESP, offering courses in Drawing, Visual Communication, and Scientific Approaches to Art. She was a co-owner of the architectural firm Grupo 3 Arquitetos Associados from 1990 to 2005, developing visual identity and environmental design projects. She has experience in the fields of Design, Architecture, and Visual Arts, focusing mainly on the following topics: visual and environmental graphic language, experimental processes in visual design, illustrated book design, design of playful spaces and immersive environments, and multisensory narratives.
