Medical degree from Faculdade de Medicina de Barbacena / Brazil (2002), specialist in Internal Medicine (Belo Horizonte / Brazil - 2005), and in Critical Care (2007). Former Coordinator of the Health Economics Department (as part of the 1st Value Management Office - VMO in Latin America) of the Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein/Brazil. Currently is the Head of Tele-ICU Department and Analytics Consultant of the Big Data Department, both at Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein - São Paulo/Brazil. Professor of two Postgraduate Research Programs in Health Sciences in Brazil ("Sociedade Beneficente Israelita Brasileira Albert Einstein", and "Universidade Federal de Lavras"). Expertise in Critical Care Medicine, with special interest on the following subjects: sepsis, tissue hypoxia, myocardial metabolism during critical illness, experimental models of critical diseases, and new diagnostic tools and treatment targets for critical illness (experimental and clinical research). More recently, it has been developing projects (including research) on Science of Improvement, and Value-Based Healthcare, Artificial Intelligence/Big Data applications in Critical Care, and Health Economics (cost-effectiveness and utility analysis).
