IGOR BASSI FERREIRA PETEAN

Graduated in Dentistry from the University of São Paulo, Ribeirão Preto School of Dentistry (FORP - USP), with a scientific initiation internship in the Children's Clinic Department of FORP - USP, in the areas of Endodontics and Pediatric Dentistry (FAPESP Scholarship). Received 1st place in the Myaki Issao Category (Area 2) during the 30th Meeting of the Brazilian Society for Dental Research in 2013. During his undergraduate studies, he undertook academic-scientific exchange activities at Okayama Dental University (Japan-2014). He holds a Master's degree (2018) and a PhD (2024) in Endodontics from the Postgraduate Program in Restorative Dentistry at FORP - USP, and also studied Specialization in Endodontics at FUNORP-USP (2016-2018). He was a Contract Professor III at FORP-USP from May/2024 to June/2025. He is currently a Doctoral Professor at FORP-USP (06/2025-current). He began his activities in the scientific field by conducting research into bone metabolism and inflammatory mediators involved in the development and treatment of apical periodontitis. In his most recent studies, he is evaluating the association between genetic and molecular aspects of the individual in the development and repair of apical periodontitis persistent after endodontic treatment, as well as genetic sequencing studies applied to pulp and periapical pathologies. He received 1st place in the LAOHA Colgate Award for Clinical Research Support at the 40th Meeting of the Brazilian Society for Dental Research in 2023. He also works on research related to root canal preparation and other stages of endodontic treatment, imaging and the physical-chemical-mechanical properties of the materials used in endodontics. In this way, this knowledge is exploited in research applied to a practice based on scientific evidence, seeking to develop precision dentistry. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
