Graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the State University of Maranhão (UEMA), with a master's degree in Animal Science from the same institution and a doctorate in Sciences from the Graduate Program in Experimental Epidemiology Applied to Zoonoses at the University of São Paulo (USP). Academic and research activities focus on Parasitology, with an emphasis on Epidemiology, Phylogeny, Taxonomy, and Molecular Diagnosis of trypanosomatids, especially Leishmania infantum and Trypanosoma cruzi. Additionally, conducts studies on other parasites, supervising research in various areas of Parasitology. Currently, a professor in the Veterinary Medicine program at UEMA and a permanent faculty member of the Graduate Program in Animal Science (PPGCA), serving as coordinator from 2020 to 2025.
