Iracema Helena Schoenlein-Crusius

Degree in Biological Sciences from Centro Universitário Herminio Ometto - current UNIARARAS (1983), a master's degree (1987) and a doctorate (1993) in Biological Sciences (Plant Biology) from UNESP, Rio Claro, SP. A level VI Scientific Researcher at the Instituto de Botânica (IBt) from 1987 to 2021 and from then on at the Instituto de Pesquisas Ambientais (IPA) at the Jardim Botânico Unit. She was Advisor for Technical Assistance and Coordinator of the area of avascular plants and fungi of the postgraduate program "Plant Biodiversity and Environment" at IBt, Director of the Núcleo de Pesquisas em Micologia and member of the IBt committee for PIBIC scholarships. Accredited advisor in the postgraduate course at UNESP in Rio Claro, in the area of Applied Microbiology from 1996 to 2001. At the Botanical Society of São Paulo, she was president for two terms and editor of the Cryptogams section of the Brazilian Journal of Botany. She was Area editor of Acta Botanica Brasilica and editor-in-chief and now associate editor of Hoehnea. She was president of the Regional Biology Council of the 1st region, CRBio-01, from 2020 to May 2023. She is currently the deputy director at the Centro de Ensino e Extensão (CENEX) of the Instituto de Pesquisas Ambientais (IPA) of the Secretaria do Meio Ambiente, Infraestrutura e Logística (SEMIL) in São Paulo. She has experience in the area of Microbiology, with emphasis on Mycology, working mainly on the following topics: biodiversity, aquatic hyphomycetes, systematics and ecology of aquatic and terrestrial fungi and anthropogenic influences on fungal diversity.
