Bruno Zoccaratto Favarin

Degree in Chemistry from the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences, and Letters of Ribeirão Preto, obtained in 2011. Completed Master's degree in Chemistry at the University of São Paulo/FFCLRP in 2014, and also pursued an international Master's program offered by the Latin American Federation of Biophysical Societies in the same year. Subsequently, he successfully completed his Ph.D. in Chemistry at the University of São Paulo in 2018.Throughout his academic career, sought to broaden his horizons through international experiences. Conducted a postdoctoral research project in Physics at the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences, and Letters of Ribeirão Preto, which he completed in 2023. Additionally, he had the opportunity to pursue a postdoctoral position at the Laboratory of Condensed Matter Chemistry in Paris (UMR 7574 Sorbonne University, CNRS, Collège de France) between 2021 and 2022.Currently, a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Texas (UTSW) in Dallas, where he is involving in the characterization of Serine Palmitoyl Transferase (SPT) inhibitors as therapeutic candidates for neurodegenerative diseases.With a focus on Biochemistry, Enzymology, and Biophysics, expertise in various areas, including the production and characterization of liposomes and proteoliposomes, biochemical and biophysical analyses of biomimetic membranes, enzyme expression and purification, study of membranes and extracellular vesicles, kinetic characterization of enzymes and inhibitors, bone calcification processes, cell culture, and chemical and physicochemical analyses using techniques such as atomic force microscopy, FTIR, ATR, X-ray, solid and liquid-state NMR, Cryo-TEM, DSC, DLS, and Cryo-EM.For further information about Bruno Favarin's academic and research activities, you can visit his profile on ResearchGate: https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Bruno-Favarin-2 (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
