Graduated in Biology from the Universidad Nacional Federico Villarreal do Perú, Master's and Ph.D. in Biochemistry at Chemistry Institute of the University of São Paulo. Postdoctoral fellow at the University of California - Los Angeles (UCLA) studying the function of proteins involved in ribosome synthesis. Post-doctorate at the University of Aarhus - Denmark studying the mechanisms involved in the maturation of mRNA in the cell, and post-doctorate at the University of São Paulo characterizing the RNA exosome complex. Dr. Gonzales is a Research Professor at the Universidad Yachay Tech and since 2018, he has held the position of Coordinator of the Department of the Faculty of Biological Sciences and Engineering. His research is focused on: - RNA metabolism and function. - Biochemistry of proteins. - Genetics of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. - Dispersion and prevalence of enteric microorganisms resistant to antibiotics. - Nuclear transport mechanisms and how failures would lead to affect more complex processes in the cell. - Effects of pesticides on gene expression in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
