Brunna Laboissiere Ferreira

Brunna Laboissiere Ferreira is a filmmaker, architect, and urban planner. Currently, she predominantly dedicates herself to filmmaking, through which she reflects on contemporary world issues, with an emphasis on the various forms of interaction between the body and space. She directed and co-produced the feature film "Fabiana," which premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam (2019) and was shown at over 40 festivals, including the São Paulo International Film Festival, Brasília Film Festival, and Olhar de Cinema (Audience Award). In 2021, she premiered the short film "Eu espero o dia da nossa independência" at the Oberhausen Film Festival, a short film she co-created (direction, script, editing, and production) with Bruna Carvalho Almeida and did the cinematography. One of her upcoming feature films, "Entre Tempos," participated in the DocMontevideo development lab and was selected for an artistic residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris (2021).She graduated in Architecture and Urbanism from the University of São Paulo in 2014. During her undergraduate studies, she focused on various Theories of Urbanism and the History of Cities, working primarily on the following topics: right to the city, social movements, spatial practices. She did exchange programs at the University of Buenos Aires, where she studied aesthetics and creative processes, and at Paris Nanterre University, where she delved into issues of urban anthropology. Also during her undergraduate studies, she took courses in photography and audiovisual at the School of Communication and Arts of the University of São Paulo and attended the Photography Laboratory and Video Laboratory at FAUUSP.
