Camilo earned his M.Eng in 2015 and Ph.D. in Materials Engineering in 2019, both from Unicamp. He completed his undergraduate degree in Materials Engineering at Universidade Federal do ABC in 2012. His research focuses on phase transformations and materials characterization. During his academic career, he completed two research internships at The Ohio State University under the supervision of Prof. Hamish Fraser.Camilo has also worked as a postdoctoral researcher in computational materials science at the Institute of Physics, USP (IFUSP), and at the University of Grenoble Alpes (UGA) in France. Currently, he is a research engineer at the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), where he applies machine learning techniques to computer vision and materials characterization. His work involves the use of neural networks alongside advanced characterization tools, such as electron microscopy, tomography, and SAXS. Camilo has experience leading projects that involve collaboration between industrial and academic partners. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
